Watch the Trailer for 'Maurizio Cattelan: The Movie'

In Maurizio Cattelan: The Movie, director Maura Axelrod offers an intimate look at the life of notorious Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. 15 years in the making, the feature-length documentary is set to be released in summer 2015, though a preview can been seen in a newly-available trailer.
According to a press release, the process of making the film began back in 2000 though it took nearly a decade to gain the full cooperation of the private artist. The resulting film delves into Cattelan's suspended taxidermies, middle finger sculptures, and his Guggenheim retrospective with the help of the artist's friends and collaborators.
“If you're gonna be involved with Maurizio, as a collector, as a museum, as a gallerist, you can't be afraid of risk,” advises collector David Ganek in the film's trailer.
While Maurizio Cattelan: The Movie isn't scheduled to be released until next summer, Cosa Nostra, a new survey of Cattelan’s work, curated by Adam Lindemann, opens this week at the Venus Over Manhattan and S|2 galleries.
